The Graphic Novels Reading Rainbow started out as a course project for my ART126 (Art Appreciation) course. I asked each of my nearly 300 students to choose a graphic novel from a list I gave them and to write a review. For most of them, it was their first time ever reading a graphic novel!

The project is ongoing. Even though the original course has ended, the project lives on and continues to grow. There are books on the original list that still need to be read and reviewed. There are many books not on the list that should be part of the RR Project too. I'll be adding more. Send me suggestions please!!

I will be doing more reviews. I also encourage anyone who wants to do a review to do it and post it to this blog! Or, send me the name of a book you think I should read and review and I will add it to my list of things to do.

This project was originally inspired by students of mine occasionally asking me for a good 'starter kit list' for getting into Graphic Novels. I wanted to provide something much more comprehensive. My thought is: I would've killed for a list like this when I was first starting to get into these books --- so hope it helps. It's fun to continue to add to it and develop it. I hope others join in and contribute their own reviews too. Ben
